Yoga & More

Here at Salt of the Earth, we invite you to feel at home in
your yoga practice. Yoga in the West has seen many
transformations. We aim to bring it back to its healing
origins.

Stress and anxiety play a big part in our lives here on
Long Island. Whether it’s at your place of work, or your
everyday life, yoga can help us self regulate and calm
our nerves in times of high intensity and hectic worry.
Yoga helps with processing stress, building resilience, and
enhancing job performance.

We aim to adapt the yoga practice to anyone and everyone.
No matter your limitations, age, lifestyle, work life, or home
life, we specialize the practice to your needs so that you can
feel the benefits. Sometimes it feels more comfortable to
practice with others who have had the same life
experiences.

You will experience a focused, grounded approach to yoga
and most of all we invite you to feel comfortable in our
space and in your own skin.

Founder/Yoga Instructor E-RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) , E-PRYT 85 (Prenatal Registered),

Special Needs Yoga Instructor, Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist (in progress)

I have practiced Yoga for over ten years and have co-facilitated yoga teacher trainings. My first introduction to yoga was during high school when I learned the incredible benefits of the practice to improve my performance in swimming and surfing as well as on the field with soccer and lacrosse.

Working as a bartender for many years, I felt the urge to make a life change and Yoga was the key to bringing me to this new and peaceful place. I received my 200-hr Yoga Certification in 2013 in the Dharma Yoga lineage.

I continued my  training to become Pre- Natal certified, Yin Yoga certified, and Special Needs Certified among the many other professional trainings I’ve experienced.

From these humble beginnings as the “Roving Yogi,” I have traveled Long Island
during the last few years to bring the yoga practice to rehabilitation and recovery facilities, sports teams and athletic programs, libraries, high schools, office buildings,  community centers, seniors programs, physical therapy offices and CrossFit gyms.

I am comfortable working privately and in small groups with learning disabled and autistic children and adults, physically disabled and fragile seniors, and others with special needs.

I approach my yoga classes from a health and healing perspective regularly
integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques,
and meditation for a calm yet rejuvenating practice.

My trainings include:

  • Yin Yoga & Myofascial Release

  • Yoga for Lymphatics

  • Yoga for Women's Health (Menopause, Endometriosis, PCOS, IVF , Fertility)

TESTIMONIALS

"Lauren has done chair yoga classes at my office and everyone loved it. Whether beginners or experienced yoga practitioners, we all got an amazing stretch just working out of a chair! We didn’t have to change our clothes or get down on the floor, and walked away feeling rejuvenated and recharged. We had her come back for several sessions. A small group yoga session is also a great office retreat idea. I highly recommend it. Every office should offer this great service for their employees!"

Maria D.

"I've been to Lauren's class several times in a small group home setting. Perfect class for beginner or experienced, she makes it relevant for all participants and there is nothing more calming than her voice and instruction."

Lynn K.

"Lauren is wonderful! This is now the third location I have followed her to since the very beginning of my yoga practice! She leads varied yoga classes for all levels! She is compassionate, patient and very informative.

Positions are explained very concisely with variations offered for practitioners of all levels. The purpose of each asana is explained both physical and emotional levels.

All this is done with wit and humor and an abundance of knowledge! Salt of the Earth is the epitome of wellness through yoga. Come join!"
